Folkwoods

There is a lot of going-on in the Folkmusic and that is a good thing. Where ever a lot of other folkfestivals more and more popacts and worldmusic presents on stage, Folkwoods brings special the traditional European tradition in all times.

This dosn't mean that there is no space for traditional folksmusic. Folkwoods is searching the width and depth inside the self restricted arrays. Of course there is a place for the Irish, Flamish and Bretons folkmusic, the base what generaly is called “folk”. Folkwoods however takes a large geografyc and musical point of vieuw: from the US up to Germany and Spain, with traditional jigs and reels and electrical gitarfolk, from esoterical songs to American singer/songwriters and heavy Folk.

The 10the edition was again full of surprises!
For kids there was also a very expansive program.
